Caden's first professional photo shoot went really well. He isn't like most other celebrity models, his only dressing room demands for the photo shoot were 3 diapers, a bottle, pacifier and a space heater because he was naked!!
Enjoy!!

5 WEEKS OLD!!!!
Wow...it is hard to believe that it has already been 5 weeks since Caden has arrived. Judging from our lack of blogging, you may have realized that we have been very busy learning what it is like to be parents. It is absolutely amazing...challenging at times....YES! But an absolute miracle. We will write more later, but enjoy the photos!

"Mom, Do we really need a naked picture? I am FREEZING!"
After 4 1/2 weeks, I finally have my eyes open longer then 1 minute!

Caden's First Few Days of Life
Let's be honest, your not here to read my updates this time. Pictures from Caden's first few days of life are below. We are home and doing very well. Caden is a rockstar feeder at Le Buffet de Momma.

8:30 update
Sally has made quick progress!! She is nine centimeters dilated now and fully effaced. Shouldn't be long and we will be pushing. Caden's heart rate is a little wacky once in a while so they are trying to take things a little slower. Caden's bed just got rolled in, Shouldn't be long now.
6 AM Update
Happy First Birthday Izzie!!! Sorry we will miss your big day!! Hopefully mom and dad will bring you to meet your cousin soon!!

Sally is now 4 cm dilated and officially in "active labor". She just got another dose through the epidural as she was starting to feel the contractions again quite strongly. No other updates at the moment. We did get 2 hours of sleep, but I can't wait for Caribou to open at 6:30 across the street!!

1:25 A.M. Update
Contractions are a good frequency, but we are waiting for them to get a little more intense. In the mean time Sal is going to try and get a few winks of sleep. She wakes up with every contraction so they will be many 3 minute naps, but we will take what we can get. We will update on the flipside!!
And the games begin!!
Here we are at the Mayo Clinic at 11 p.m. Saturday evening Doubtful anyone will be checking updates on the blog at this hour, but hopefully as you all wake up to enjoy your Sunday you can catch up with our adventures as Caden makes his way into the world.
Sally's water broke at 8:45 today after returning home from St. John's homecoming. It is now 11 p.m. and we are getting pitocin since Sally has no contractions yet. Won't be long until they are coming.

Week 37 Update - PROGRESS!!
Despite pleas for a sequal to my week 36 poetry, I will stick to the usual update and photos for week 37. We have now officially switched to an OB docter after 36 painful weeks under the care of the mid-wives (sayonara!!). We had a great visit with our doc today. Sally is 2 cm's dilated- finally some progress from all her hard work. He also said he doubts we will make it to our due date!
On a ligher note, we are so grateful to everyone who has helped us prepare for Caden's arrival. Our nursery was bare but organized until Sunday when we arrived home with two car loads of gifts from our baby showers last weekend. After 3 days of unpacking and organizing, I think we are finally as ready as we can be for Caden's arrival. We even have his first diaper out and ready to be filled ; )
Caden is 6.5 pounds this week "by the book", but mom says she "feels like a house" so perhaps he is a little bigger. He is still head down and ready for the big dive. Check back often for updates!!

Week 36 Update
One month from today our little monkey is due
Doubtful it’s pink, most likely it’s blue
In much less pain, but we still ask you to pray
Momma’s back to work four hours a day
Another great baby shower with family and friend
We are so grateful for all those who could attend
We can already tell this child is spoiled
Mom and Dad just hope you’re all around when his diaper is soiled
With 4 weeks to go he weighs six pounds
This weekend we must get away from this town
Off to Minneapolis and New Prague for a weekend of fun
The last two baby showers will soon be done
We are off to happy hour in Shane’s happy place
Downtown Minneapolis and Ameriprise friends bring smiles to my face
Though one sniff of the vomacka soup may cause Shane to run
We are headed to Dozinky days for some fun in the sun
We can’t wait for the day when we see the stork
But for now we wait for the pop of the cork

Week 35 continued...
This is the first time Mama Sally has posted to this blog, so by now it has taken me about 3 hours to figure out how...But as Shane mentioned, I am currently not working, so I guess I had pleny of time to do so. Here are some pictures from my most recent shower for Caden. Grandma Jill's friends hosted a wonderful shower and Caden got a whole new wardrobe!

Week 35 Update!!
Sorry for the lack of posts lately everyone. Sally has been home from work the last two weeks with bad back pain which has been diagnosed as a variety of things from kidney stones and braxton-hicks contraction pain after 10 trips to the hospital. She is taking some pain meds and trying to relax as much as Sally Jensen can relax.
We spent a relaxing weekend at Grandma Jill's and squeezed a shower into the weekend with Grandma J's close friends.
In the last two weeks we also have pulled together the nursery!! I'll try and post some pics tonight!
Caden is 20 inches long and 5.5 lbs by the book this weekend, and as mom says, "can come anytime now please". Please pray for Sally that she can start to feel better and enjoy these last few weeks of being pregnant.
Love,
Shane, Sally and Caden Robert

Week 32 - Friends Shower
8 weeks to go!!
With just two months to go, Sally celebrated with her friendlies for her first baby shower. A big thank you to Beth and Kerry for putting on the shower for Sally. Thanks to everyone who made it and for all of the cute gifts for Caden!! It was so good to see so many of our friends at one time. It normally takes us about 2 months worth of trips up to the cities to see everyone!!

We had our week 32 appointment today and all is well. Caden is still head first as he had been since day one. Hopefully he will stay put for the next two months. All is going smoothly, so they let us go another full month before our next appointment. Caden weighs almost four pounds this week and is just under 19 inches long!

Week 31 Cabin Adventures
We survived the long haul to Brainerd for a weekend at the cabin and we are definitely dragging at the beginning of this week because of it. We had beautiful weather at the lake and enjoyed a nice boat trip, campfire and watching Tucker run in and out of the water over and over and over again. He is still recovering from the adventures this morning, but I'm guessing he will be ready to get back to his long walks tonight. I would love to tell you that our big MFF purchase of our Zebco 220 fishing polls was a success, but considering Shane's first cast ended with the reel landing 10 feet off the dock and into the water I think they will be returned to Mills Fleet Farm.
Not much else to report this week from Rah Rah Rochester, just another slow, boring week running the Mayo Clinic. Sally has a baby shower with all her friends this weekend, so we will be up in the cities staying in Edina with Beth and Cubbie. We are thinking of hitting up a Twins game on Friday night if anyone wants to join us.
Caden is really starting to kick with some fierceness now, he really did not enjoy the ride home on Sunday and tried to kick his way out of mom for almost the entire 4 hours we were on the road. I'm considering hiring a live in masseuse for Sally during the week, I can hardly stand the smell emanating from Sally's feet after a long days work anymore. I think I actually lost consciousness for a few seconds last night while giving her a little rub.
Sal had one very uncomfortable day with bad back pain and constant tightness in her stomach this week and the mid-wife thought she might be having pre-term labor, luckily she started to feel better once she got home and we are hoping that was just Caden "dropping" down to get ready for the big ride home. We have our week 32 appointment Monday afternoon, and after that we start moving to appointments every two weeks.
Caden is 18 inches long and 3.5 pounds this week!!! Have a great week everyone!! See some of you this weekend!
Love,
Shane, Momma and Caden
P.s. We will try and post an updated photo tonight!!

Week 30 Reunion!!
Hello Everyone!!
The big news of the week was that we were reunited with our dog Tucker on Friday afternoon after 6 weeks away at camp! We spent the weekend home in Rochester so he could get readjusted to being at home with Mom and Dad. We are quite pleased with the results from boot camp. Tucker heals like a champ on walks now and comes when called (most of the time),. We have a shock collar for him now that we will use for a couple months until he is completely used to the new rules in the house. We will see how that goes.
We did manage to get to Lanesboro, MN on Saturday for a quick adventure down the Root River. 3 hours and a few near capsizing events later we made it safely back to town. Unfortunately we did not get any of the many embarrassing moments on camera this time, but I'm sure you can imagine the scenes the pregnant lady and the "sticks for arms" accountant made trying to conquer the rapids.
After 3 straight weeks in Rochester, for sanity's sake we have to bust out of town next weekend for a couple days at Erik and Becka's family cabin near Brainerd. We are now the proud owners of two shiny new Zebco 220 fishing polls - thank you MFF (Mills Fleet Farm for you city folk) for the fabulous deal. Sally is looking forward to breaking them in and enjoying her favorite fetish of putting night crawlers on the hooks.
Other than that, not much new to report this week. Caden weighs 3 pounds this week and is 16 inches long!! Only 10(ish) weeks to go!
Love,
Shane and Sally

Welcome!!
Welcome to the Jensen family blog!! We hope to keep everyone up-to-date on our journey to parenthood sometime around October 16th, 2008. As long as everything is going to plan, we even hope to give updates of events on the big day. One because it's fun for everyone and two because it is better than the phone ringing off the hook while Sal is resting during the big event.
To catch everyone up, we are now in week 29!! The first 13 weeks were quite un-blog worthy as Sally and Caden spent most of the first three months together cuddling on the couch with Tucker and a box of Cheez-it's. Since then we have resumed our regular schedule of traveling and visiting friends and family in the twin cities. We are now entering the final stretch, and have 2 months of baby showers to keep us busy (okay just Sally). Sal is feeling great now for the most part besides a little sore back in the morning. Caden has started to kick a lot harder now, so hopefully he doesn't try to kick his way out earlier than we expect. He is 14 inches long now and 2.5 pounds!! We are picking up Tucker this week after 6 weeks of boot camp and can't wait to get him back!! Hopefully they have taught him that he can no longer sleep on top of mom.
We hope to update everyone weekly with stories and pictures to keep you all up to speed. Enjoy!!
Love,
Shane and Sally
